Dave Marcovitz, MD, is an associate professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Vanderbilt University. After completing his undergraduate studies in humanities at Princeton and earning his medical degree from Vanderbilt, Dr. Marcovitz completed his psychiatry residency and fellowship at Harvard. Following his training, Dr. Marcovitz returned to Vanderbilt, where he led an academic division focused on developing integrated treatment programs, enhancing team culture, and implementing management science principles. Dr.Marcovitz draws on diverse therapeutic approaches and recognizes that recovery looks different for each person. Dr. Marcovitz has lectured and published extensively on a range of topics, including Setting Limits With Controlled Substances-The Role of Motivational Interviewing to Increase Comfort and More Effective Communication in Inpatient Addiction Treatment
