Taryn Jaramillo
DSW LCSW
Chief WellBeing Officer, Chief Operating Officer-Consultant
Thanks to endless curiosity, deep listening skills, and a rare ability to identify and synthesize all parties’ needs to create mutual wins, Dr. Jaramillo’s 15-year career in real estate development saw her passion for bringing the relational to the transactional bloom into an almost 12-year career as the Broward County Mental Health Social Work Supervisor for the Department of Veterans Affairs-Miami.
Dr. Jaramillo’s people-centric philosophy, capacity to cultivate meaningful and productive relationships, and ability to achieve results through collaborative efforts led her to pivot from a business career to a career caring for others. After earning her MSW, Dr. Jaramillo proved a resonant fit at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she was responsible for overseeing specialty mental health services at four outpatient clinics and supervised a staff of clinicians providing care for veterans struggling with PTSD, substance use disorder, and a range of mental health issues in outpatient clinical settings. While working for the VA, Dr. Jaramillo obtained her Doctorate of Social Work (DSW).
Dr. Jaramillo’s years of experience across governmental, private, and nonprofit sectors made clear the immense cultural need to place greater emphasis on genuine well-being across all life domains. Emerging from the VA even more committed to fostering holistic well-being within organizations and communities, Dr. Jaramillo joined the second-ever cohort in Luis Gallardo’s Chief Mental and Physical Well-Being Officer Certification Program. The first in the world based on the USA Surgeon General’s Five Essentials for Workplace Mental Health & Well-Being, the program centers around Protection from Harm, Connection & Community, Work-Life Harmony, Mattering at Work, and Opportunity for Growth.
Before joining SilverBell Global, Dr. Jaramillo served as the Senior Clinical Director for Caron Florida’s Older Adult, Ocean Drive, and Mental Health Programs, where she developed strategies and plans for clinical programming and was responsible for overseeing patient care, staff retention, and recruitment, clinical supervision, and monitoring of compliance to legal guidelines, internal policies, and quality standards.
Along with her Doctorate of Social Work (DSW), Dr. Jaramillo earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana. She is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and is certified in cognitive processing therapy for trauma (CPT-T), integrative behavioral couples therapy (IBCT), primary care mental health integration (PCMHI) model, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Reiki Level II, and is a certified clinical hypnotherapist (C.C.H.).
Dr. Jaramillo is a Level I yoga instructor trained in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) techniques. She has served as a graduate-level instructor at Florida Atlantic University Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work.
Passionate about eradicating global hunger and food insecurity, Dr. Jaramillo is pursuing opportunities to collaborate with NGOs and like-minded non-profits to facilitate education, training, and action around this critical issue.
As a Certified Chief Wellbeing Officer (CWO), Dr. Jaramillo joins other forward-thinking individuals committed to fostering holistic well-being within organizations, communities, and themselves.
